To understand the history and influence of our subject on the evolution of science in Mexico, it is not enough to simply present the various activities he influenced; it is essential to understand the diverse schools of thought that emerged at each stage. Until the second half of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th centuries, ideology was dominated by scholasticism, metaphysics, and systematic theories. Dr. Montaña influenced all of this, contributing to a more scientific approach to medicine in our country from that point forward. In addition, to recognizing that talent, opportunity, discipline, and effort create the best environment to influence change, despite the many difficulties encountered along the way.
