A pedagogy that includes elements of narrative medicine and critical epistemology can contribute to the training of more critical physicians. This essay aimed to analyze how a pedagogy that incorporates knowledge of narrative medicine and critical epistemology can contribute to the training of physicians who are more critical and reflective of their practice, committed to a more ethical medical practice. This knowledge could help restore the humanization of medical practice and develop the physician’s capabilities and skills for social interaction with his or her peers and with society.
